Areas I can Support with

Depression, anxiety & low self-esteem

Anxiety, low mood and low self-esteem can leave you feeling overwhelmed, stuck or disconnected from yourself. You might find yourself overthinking, worrying about what others think, doubting yourself or feeling as though you’re never quite good enough.

Counselling gives you space to slow things down and understand what’s happening underneath those feelings.

Together, we can explore patterns in your thoughts, feelings and relationships, where some of your beliefs about yourself may have come from, and what might be keeping you stuck. I’ll listen without judgement while also offering reflection and gentle challenge when it feels helpful.

This isn’t about telling you how to think or who you should be. It’s about helping you understand yourself with more compassion, build trust in yourself and find ways forward that feel right for you.

Support for Parents and Carers

When your child is struggling with their mental health, physical health, neurodivergence or attending school, it can have a huge impact on you too.

You might find yourself constantly questioning whether you’re doing the right thing. Do I push them? Am I making things worse? Should I be doing more?

When so much of your energy goes into supporting your child, your own needs can easily get lost.

For 15 years, I’ve worked alongside children, young people, parents and families across education, the voluntary sector and family support services. I understand the pressure families can experience when things aren’t working for their child, particularly around school attendance and emotionally based school avoidance.

Counselling gives you a space that’s just for you. Somewhere you don’t have to be the strong one or have all the answers.

We can talk honestly about the worry, guilt, frustration, exhaustion or uncertainty you’re carrying, while making space for your needs too.

Grief and Loss

There’s no right way to grieve and no timeline for when you should start feeling differently. Grief can bring sadness, anger, guilt, relief, numbness and sometimes emotions that are difficult to put into words.

Loss can also take many forms. You may be grieving someone who has died, a miscarriage, the end of a relationship, changes to your health or family, or a life that looks different from the one you imagined.

Counselling can give you somewhere to talk openly without worrying about protecting other people or feeling that you should be coping better.

I won’t try to rush you through your grief or encourage you to simply “move on”. Instead, we can make space for what you’re carrying and gently explore what your loss means to you, at a pace that feels manageable.

Menopause & Perimenopause

Perimenopause and menopause can affect much more than your physical health. You might feel more anxious, emotional or overwhelmed, struggle with confidence, experience changes in your relationships, or simply feel less like yourself.

For some women, this stage of life can also bring other things to the surface — changes in identity, caring responsibilities, ageing parents, changing relationships, work pressures or questions about what you want from the next part of your life.

Counselling gives you space to talk about what’s happening for you without having your experiences dismissed or reduced to hormones.

Together, we can explore the emotional impact of the changes you’re experiencing, make sense of what you’re feeling and reconnect with your own needs.

You don’t need to have a clear reason for feeling the way you do. Sometimes knowing that you don’t quite feel like yourself anymore is enough of a place to begin

Stress, Overwhelm and Burnout

Sometimes life can feel like too much. You might be juggling work, family, relationships, caring for others or simply trying to keep everything going while feeling increasingly exhausted yourself.

Stress and burnout don’t always look like falling apart. You might still be getting through each day while feeling constantly on edge, irritable, emotionally drained or unable to switch off. You may even feel guilty for struggling when, from the outside, everything seems fine.

I provide a safe space where you can put some of that weight down.

Together, we can explore what’s contributing to how you’re feeling, notice patterns such as putting everyone else first or perhaps expecting too much of yourself, and think about what you need to move forwards.
